Women of the Word - Fall Conference

Dear NBC Ladies,

 

In the book of Titus Paul instructs his son in the faith to instruct and edify the local churches of Crete in certain ways. One of those ways is to instruct the older women to walk in such a way as to adorn the doctrine of God, and to equip them to teach the younger ladies to do the same. So, this coming Saturday I have the distinct privilege of trying to follow in Titus' footsteps.

 

I am so grateful for the opportunity to address you with the Word of God. Like you, I am not totally sure how it is going to go to have a man speaking at a women's conference, but my prayer is that God uses the time to grow us all in our commitment to sound doctrine that is adorned by godly lives. Maybe you haven't signed up yet because, after all - what is a man doing at a women's conference? But, can I urge you to reconsider. Titus has so much relevant content for all of us, and the fellowship with your fellow sisters will be sweet, and the food will be outstanding - you should come! As you prepare for this time, I thought I would make two simple suggestions to help you get the most out of the time. The first is to take 15 minutes and read the short letter to Titus in one sitting. And the second is, as you read, take note of recurring thoughts, words, and ideas. 

 

May God multiply us in grace and peace in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
